Hermann Park is known as one of Houston's most popular and historically significant public green spaces. Located in the heart of Houston, the 445-acre park is one of the most picturesque areas of Houston. The park includes golfing, the Houston zoo, Miller Outdoor Theater, the Pinewood Café, Houston Garden Center, a reflection pond, fishing lake with pier, hike & bike trails, a multitude of museums, miniature train, picnic areas, playgrounds and splash pads.
At the front of the park, visitors are greeted by a statue of one of Houston's founders, General Sam Houston, who is positioned to point the direction of the park’s many amenities. While visitors come from across Houston and even from outside the city limits, the Park’s most frequent visitors come from its surrounding neighborhoods, which represent a diverse cross-section of Houston.
As a free, safe, and enjoyable public space, Hermann Park brings people together and fosters a strong sense of community. It’s a wonderful place to spend a day and it offers countless opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation.
